The conference will provide a national forum for student leaders, bereaved college students, the college mental health community, college administrators and other interested parties to discuss current issues and future directions in college student grief support. It will take place during an energizing and inspiring weekend that includes educational seminars, networking opportunities, grief support workshops, and the Boot Camp 2 Beat Cancer!

12:00-3:00 Conference Registration at Meredith College (Raleigh, NC)
3:00-7:30 Conference Session 1* at Meredith College with small group discussions and sessions on the "problems" faced by grieving college students:
- "The impact of college student grief" by Illene Noppe, PhD and Heather Servaty-Seib, PhD,
- "The Prevalence of college student grief" by Andrea Walker, PhD
- "General grief support " by Phyllis Silverman, PhD
- "University Bereavement Support services" by David Fajgenbaum, BS
7:30-9:00 Dinner/Keynote address by David Balk, PhD, the leading researcher in the field of college student bereavement for the last two decades. He is a professor in the Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.

an exercise-based fundraiser held annually by National Students of AMF to raise awareness about the benefits of healthy lifestyle choices, raise money for cancer research, and raise money to develop programs to support college-aged students coping with illnesses or death.
- Conference attendees will have the option of volunteering, participating in the walk, or staying at the hotel.

Hotel
A block of rooms have been reserved for conference guests for August 22, 2008 at the Fairfield Inn Suites Crabtree (Raleigh, NC) at a special rate of $79+tax. To reserve a room at this rate, you will need to call (919) 881-9800 and ask for the “student grief” block. These guaranteed rooms and price only have limited availability, so book them as soon as possible! We will provide all transportation between the hotel and the conference location (Meredith College).
Student scholarships
A limited number of Student Scholarships will be available to pay for flight and hotel accommodations for students who are affiliated with a chapter of Students of AMF! Email conference@studentsofamf.org for more information!

$40 for everyone who is not a National Students of AMF member
